Starting the Conversation: A  Workshop on Effective Climate Change Communication

Overview

Registration is now open for NNOCCI’s first public, virtual Beginner Workshop! This new offering is for those interested in learning and practicing science-based methods for having more impactful and effective climate change conversations.

This workshop helps participants explore the challenges and opportunities associated with how people in the United States think about climate change and offers an introduction to how social science research-based tools (Strategic Framing) can help communicators more effectively navigate the topic.

The course will teach participants how to use basic framing elements, including how framing with values appeals to the most people, how to effectively utilize the Heat Trapping Blanket metaphor to build understanding of climate mechanisms, and how to promote hopeful solutions. This 3-day, 2-hour/day virtual workshop is open to anyone interested!
