History and Hope for Climate Action: An Interpretive Toolkit
October 24 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am PDT
FreeHistory & Hope for Climate Action: An Interpretive Toolkit helps communicators explore people-centered connections to climate change. The toolkit uses a three-step process to develop engaging, site-relevant stories that move audiences to awareness and action. An accompanying worksheet helps interpreters implement the three-step approach. Although developed for National Park Service employees, interpreters and communicators from other organizations may find History & Hope equally useful.
Elizabeth Villano is a climate change communication specialist with the National Park Service, where she focuses on innovative approaches to enhancing climate literacy within the workforce and among the general public. Through her work on the NPS toolkit, ‘History and Hope for Climate Action,’ she emphasizes humanizing climate change by weaving history and personal stories into the narrative.
