Seeding the Future: Engaging Youth in Climate Solutions
DATE: Wednesday, June 17
TIME (ET / PT): 3 pm ET / 12 pm PT
Join us as we learn from two organizations that are inspiring youth to take action on climate in their communities. Students Promoting Environmental Awareness & Knowledge (SPEAK) at Atlanta Botanical Garden in Atlanta, Georgia trains youth to educate guests about climate change and solutions at the Gardens. The Youth Climate Advocacy Committee (YCAC) at Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is a youth-led program where youth develop and implement environment-related projects of their choice within the Pittsburgh community.
Coordinators for each of these programs as well as youth participants will join us to talk about how their programs function, their best practices for fostering climate leadership in youth, and lessons learned along the way.
This session is open to NNOCCI Members and the public. We encourage participants to join with a webcam and mic to participate in the Q&A, but this is not required.
